I am focussed on molecular phylogenetics and DNA/eDNA barcoding/metabarcoding studies. I also lead the working group on the standardization of genomic techniques used to identify biodiversity in aquatic ecosystems across Europe under the EU DNAqua-Net Action. I use these techniques to study interactions among species in aquatic ecosystems, particularly invasive, endemic and endangered species and their interactions with the environment. Apart from this, we are working with my research group to analyse epigenetic and metagenomic methods to investigate evolution of microorganisms, vertebrates and invertebrates and analysing them with bioinformatics. We have recently started working on experimental evolution.
